Today I have a really fun giveaway for you, but first I’d like to tell you about a friend of mine.
My friend Natasha is an amazing woman, a mother, an artist and a very caring friend. She is also one of those really optimistic people, and recently she has realised her dream of owning a place for art, crafts, good friends, tea, learning and making, – The Make Studio.
For the grand opening of The Make Studio, which is located in Loudwater, High Wycombe in the United Kingdom, Natasha will be hosting an amazing event called Yarnspiration!
Yarnspiration is an all day event on the 5th of July which is full of workshops, tea, cake, lovely people and a lot of fun.
On the day ticket holders will learn how to dye wool, make crochet hooks and buttons, how to spin, how to make patchwork tiles and how to crochet flowers.
All materials will be supplied, as well as food and drinks.
Natasha has kindly taken the time to answer a few questions for us all.
Tell us about yourself, how did you get to be where you are today?
I opened The Make Studio because I love arts and crafts , I enjoy making things, I appreciate learning from talented people. I feel it would be great to create a crafting venue where we can all enjoy making!
Have you always wanted to own your own business? Did you previously work in a different job?
By profession I am an Early Years Educator.
What are your hopes and plans for the future of your business?
I hope that The Make Studio will host a number of different crafters and artists who will share their talent with those that want to learn. It will be a whimsical venue filled with creativity.
Tell us about your studio’s philosophy or ethical commitment.
I also feel it’s important to give back to society and The Make Studio will also be involved in charity events.
Who or what inspired you?
Jill Myint-Maung from Knittybots inspired me. She is extremely talented at dyeing yarn. She now only does it for charity.
What is the workshop or future plan you are most excited about?
At the moment I am most excited about the launch on the 5th July. All proceeds from the workshops will go to charity. All workshop presenters are doing this to support the chosen charities. For this event we will be supporting The National Autistic Society and Amnesty International.
Tell us about your customers and visitors.
I am ever so grateful to the people that have taken a leap of faith and are supporting our first event. They will have a fantastical day.
To celebrate Yarnspiration, The Make Studio are giving away one skein of beautifully hand dyed yarn in a colours they like. The winner will be able to send a picture for inspiration and pick between sock or double knit.
The Giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.
