“How many more days?”

Emi is eagerly waiting for her German grandma to come for a visit. Every morning she jumps out of her little bed and asks “How many more days?”, so we decided to make a paper chain count-down.

Each of the paper chain links has a little surprise written inside, a fun activity for the day, something like “Let’s go feed the ducks” , “Would you like to bake cookies?” and “Today we are going to go to the park!”.

It makes waiting just a little bit easier, and of course it means Emily can work out just how many more days she has to wait by counting the links left on the chain.

Twenty, Mama! That’s far too many! Germany must be such a long way away, it is taking forever for Oma to arrive!
