Rainy Day Craft : Catch and Bake Raindrops

This summer has been a bit rainy so far, and while I love rain most it can get a little bit boring sometimes being stuck inside.
Today we made the best of the big raindrops falling outside – we caught them and baked them to make rain crystals!
This is really easy to do, all you need is a baking tray and flour, and the best part is that it is not only fun, it’s educational and really quite magical, too!

Bake Raindrops

You will need:

Flour
Baking Tray

How to:

Fill your tray up with flour, about 3 cm deep,
then take it outside into the rain and wait until you have caught lots of raindrops!

Carefully carry your tray inside and bake it for about ten minutes at 180C.
It should look something like this:

Let your raindrops cool down and sift the flour.
You will be left with your raindrops!
Now you can draw them, compare their shapes, measure them and sort them!

You can even have a competition to see who catches the biggest raindrop!
Have a wonderful day!
