Waldorf Homeschool : Our Weekly Rhythm

One of the things that is really important to us is our weekly rhythm.
While some days we might meet friends and others we might go to the beach, there are certain things that are always the same, something we do every day.
A weekly rhythm can turn even the busiest of homes into a calm and happy place.
We light a candle whenever we start these activities, just to make it feel even more special and beautiful.

Our daily activities are the same each day of the week.

Monday :        Seasonal Craft
Tuesday :       Modelling Clay (We use either air drying clay or salt dough.)
Wednesday:  Drawing
Thursday :     Beeswax Modelling
Friday :           Handwork (Knitting, Sewing, Embroidery..)
Saturday :      Watercolour Painting
Sunday :         Drawing from a Story

We used to have a separate day for baking and cooking together, but these days we bake every morning and cook together every night. We also try to play at least one boardgame every day.
The weekly rhythm works well with our daily and monthly home rhythm, and I can’t wait to share more about this with you soon!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

I found the same as you, we couldn’t have a baking day, or bread day, because we bake or make bread most days!
We haven’t tried beeswax yet, do you think K would like it?

    • I think she would like it, though it can be quite difficult, it took Emi quite a while for her muscles to get used to rolling and modelling the wax. We now warm it in a bowl of warm water to help with that, and we always “warm up” our hands with some finger exercises, too!

After reading your story, I am inspired to live a waldorf lifestyle!
Not sure what hubby and 4 children( 3, 9, 11, 13) would think.
Is waldorf a part of your christianity story or were you into this when still connecting to judaism?
    What does your family say?
    where are you from originally?
hope i am not being too nosy…i am just going through some difficult life situations and really taken with your outlook and background.
    thank you for sharing :)
