These little lanterns look great on a Nature Table or as a centrepiece.
Fill some with candles and some with flowers!
It is easy enough for little ones to make, but they might need some help with tying the string tight enough.
Stick Candles
You will need:
Sticks
Glass Jar
Tealight
Elastic Band
Wool / Yarn
How to:
Put your elastic band tightly around the glass jar.
Start sliding the sticks between the elastic and the glass , fill the entire outside of the glass.
When this is done tie wool around the sticks tightly.
Cut off the elastic band,
that’s it!
It looks great with a little tealight inside, (do be careful that it does not get to hot!)
but you can also use it as a vase.
Have fun making these lovely little lanterns!
Wishing you a wonderful day.

PS// Thank you for your concern for our safety, luckily we are far from the London Riots.
I hope you and yours are safe, too.

I am enamored with your website!! The photos are scrumptions and the projects enticing!!!
Logistical question about the twig lantern … how do you light the candle? It seems that the twigs would be in the way to go straight down and that the candle would tumble if you tilted the jar on its side. Goodness knows I would probably light a twig on fire trying to get to the candle. LOL.
Hey Melissa, we use these lighters to light all of our candles, they are safe and my 5 year old can help guide the flame towards the candle . http://www.amazon.co.uk/Safety-Gas-Lighter-need-matches/dp/B001RI4ZPK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322811822&sr=8-2 Hope this helps!
