Book Review: Toucan Toucan’t by Peter Francis-Browne

We were recently sent a copy of the book Toucan Toucan’t by Peter Francis-Browne, published by Top That Publishing.
Toucan Toucan’t is an amusing story book for young children and new readers.
It follows two toucans who discover that there are certain things two can do, and other things that two can’t do.

At first glance Toucan Toucan’t is just a fun picture book, but there is more to this book.

Children will recognize many of the situations from the 23 beautifully illustrated pages, such as
Toucan see-saw, Toucan’t be king of the castle“.
It’s a book about friendship, about things you can do together and situations in which you might have to find a compromise.

It’s a great book for children who enjoy playing with their friends, and it’s certainly a brilliant present for those new big brothers and sisters, or just for those little ones who might have a hard time sharing.

The last page of the book is the sweetest because it shows that, despite all the things that Tucan’t do,
Toucan be friends forever.

Both Emily and George really enjoyed this book and it is one of the few books that George will let us read to him.
(He prefers to read by himself most of the time.)
We really like Toucan Toucan’t, the only thing my little ones complained about was that it was over a little bit too quickly, but really that just means that we can read it a few times in a row, and if you have a 4 year old (almost five, Mama!), then you know that this is a good thing!

Wishing you a lovely day!
