We have just started the love-hate rice experiment, which I am sure you have all heard of.
You boil some rice, divide it between two jars, seal the jars and then declare one of the jars the “Love” jar and one the “Hate” jar. Every day you tell the “Hate” jar that it is bad and that you don’t like it very much at all, and then you tell the “Love” jar that it is beautiful, amazing, wonderful and loved.

The rice in the “Hate” jar will go mouldy while the “Love” rice stays the same.
It is a simple yet powerful experiment and I really hope it will remind us all of the power that words and emotions can have.
I am not sure how long it is going to take, our jars are rather well sealed, but I really can’t wait to see it.
Have any of you done this experiment? Did it work for you?
Wishing you a wonderful day!

We have done this experiment….and I can tell you that it worked for us!!

My skeptical husband joined in, and he was truly shocked by the results.

Just goes to show the power of loving words.

  6. I just discovered your blog (through Pinterest) and I have to say, I absolutely love it! I’ve never heard of this experiment, but I find it fascinating and amazing. I just showed my kids the youtube video you linked to, and even though they are quite young (4 and 5), they seemed to understand it, for the most part. When the video was done, they started talking about how much they love me and each other :) I believe we will be making this experiment as well! Thanks for sharing!
