Felt Flower Tutorial

As promised yesterday , here is how to make your own felted flower!

You will need:

Fairy Wool (that’s wool roving, really, but Fairy Wool sounds so much nicer!)
A small ball. (The size of this determines the size of your flower.)
Soap
Hot Water

Optional:
A stick or wire,
green yarn to wrap around it.
A button.

Wrap your little ball in the fairy wool,
you will need to wrap it in two layers so it will felt easier.

To felt it hold it securely in both hands, dip it into hot and soapy water, lift it out again and roll it between
your hands. Repeat this for about 15 minutes or till your wool looks felted.
Rinse it under cold water.

Cut a hole into your felt and squeeze out the ball,
it will look something like this:

Now you need to make four even cuts, these will be your petals.

That’s the first layer of your flower done.
Make another layer if you like.
I thought it would look nice to have two different colours.

Sew your two layers together and put a cute button into the middle.

If you like you can now wrap some wire or just a stick with some green yarn and attach your flower to that.

Have fun, make loads, give them to friends!
Wishing you a beautiful day!
