(Please remember to enter our children’s book GIVEAWAY)
In this cold and dark season it can be so difficult to find the right balance of it all.
While I want to wrap my little ones up in winter-knits and soft quilts ,they tell me that
it’s enough, Mama, I can’t even see with this hat on!
While I am lighting candles and knitting just one more warm hat for the littlest one,
while I am feeling such a strong sense of staying home, my little adventurers are being pulled
outside by the freezing fog,the muddy ground and the empty fields that surround our tiny home.
I love to see these two run with confidence,
climb with confidence,
find their way, have fun and not worry.
I love to see them so connected with themselves and the world around them,
it really makes for very happy children.
(And messy children, too!)
I am grateful for this little lesson ,
and even more grateful for the hot chocolate and tea that await us when we come back home with
bright red noses and cold hands.
Now, I better put all those sticks to good use,
I think we will roast a few marshmallows over a small camp-fire.
Wishing you an adventurous day,
♥

lovely pictures! Have fun with the marshmallows! We’re thinking of having a campfire for the winter solstice but i can’t quite decide if i’m brave enough to face the cold!
It’s the first time the little ones are having marshmallows, I hope they like them.
I hope you will decide to brave the cold, I’m already looking forward to the photos you will take!
I like the style of life that you are giving to your children. I have girl and boy too, and my girl is the oldest. How old is she? Mine is 3, and my little boy is turning 2 in January.
In this day I would like to stay at home all day but for the children is impossible, they need to go out, you are lucky, you have a pretty garden and place.
God bless you xxx
My little girl is 4 1/2 , and my older boy is 2 years old.
In the summer I am so happy to spend all day -out-, but in this weather I much prefer to do sit by the window and some knitting.
Thank you for the lovely things you said,
love,
kate
Great for children to get outside and run and play in mud.
Isn’t it just the best thing about children, how they put fun first and not worry about all the mess ?
Beautiful post, and the pictures are stunning! I am also battling with the little ones to bundle up. I am amazed by how much cold they can stand just to be able to play outside. I would rather be in with the tea, myself!
Kristy, if i did not insist on them wearing at least a coat they would happily play outside in their pyjamas..
I sit here telling my children to put on sunscreen and remember today will be hot so drink lots of water while your rug up!
Mud, mess and the great outdoors are where kids are happy. Beautiful photos.
Oh,summer time, what fun!
I think my little ones miss the summer a little bit more than I do..
