We’re almost done with the house, but as we recently got the lovely news that our Emily can have wheat, gluten and dairy again we took some time off this morning to make some Halloween treats.
There were some arguments over the name, but in the end Miss Emily won, so, here they are, our
Yummy Wicked Halloween Monster Bites.
You will need:
1 pack of Oreo’s
1 pack of cream cheese
2 bars of white chocolate
red food colouring
oh, and at least one really cute assistant wouldn’t hurt either!

First, put your Oreo’s in a bowl and crush them. We used a wooden spoon.
When they resemble sand or maybe just breadcrumbs mix them with the cream cheese and stir till it sort of looks like this:
That’s your dough. Put that in the fridge for about 45 minutes and do some pumpkin face-painting while you are waiting.
After the 45 minutes are up it is time to melt the white chocolate.
Break it into tiny pieces first,
then put it into a saucepan and put that saucepan into another one that is filled with hot water.
(does that make sense?) I think you can also melt it in the microwave, but I tend to find this easier.
While the chocolate is melting you can roll all your dough into small balls. We made them about the size of a golf ball. Stir the food colouring into the chocolate, (use orange for treats that look like little pumpkins!)
and then dip your cookie balls into the chocolate. Put them on a baking sheet and then let them cool down in the fridge for another 15 minutes.
Now,they are not the prettiest, but they sure look scary , and they really taste great!
(They will keep in a sealed container in the fridge for about a week.)
I will be back tomorrow to show you more of our home.
Have a lovely day!
