To get all this unpacking and sorting done quicker and be a little bit more motivated I thought I’d show you a room a day, to show our progress of moving into this much, much smaller cosier new home of ours.
That’s the plan, anyway. We just got an internet connection yesterday, but those of you who have been in contact might receive a letter rather than an email, as I have been writing letters to stay in touch.
Now, a room a day.
Today: The little one’s room!
This room was quite a challenge , and it’s definitely a work-in-progress.
So far we have had built in wardrobes in our homes, but this little place has absolutely no storage space AT ALL. No cupboards, (well, there are four kitchen cupboards) no under-the-stairs, nothing. In a way that is really a blessing, because I do like to hold on to things for far too long, and at least this way I had to sort through a few things , freecycle some, give some to friends and simply put other things in the bin.
The biggest problem was that there are no wardrobes, and we really can’t afford to buy one, so for now the children’s clothes will all live in our bedroom in baskets under the bed. It is not ideal, but for now it will do.
Let’s start with my favourite part of their room, the ceiling!
I just love, love, love glow in the dark stars, don’t you? As a child I always dreamt of a ceiling covered in them,
so that’s exactly what we got for Emily & Boo’s bedroom.
The comfy corner for storytime:

Georgie’s side of their bedroom:
(We have yet to find some posters of tractors and diggers for him!)
Emi’s side of their bedroom:
(We bought a Disney Princess Magazine as she asked for a princess bedroom.)
I am sure things will change in this bedroom as we live & grow in this house, but for now the little ones seem very happy with their room.
I am hoping to show you another finished room tomorrow!!
Have a lovely day!

so cute!
Love their room. So cozy and cute. You are so inspiring to me. I love how you make your house a home. I get a ton of inspiration from you. Can’t wait to see the rest of your cozy new home. Our house is small too but I love it.
SO sweet! We live in a small house, too, and I am constantly decluttering.
