a real treasure

Today, at Nanny & Grandpa’s house, we looked through a box full of old books that used to be Daddy’s, and we found a few we really like. There was one , though, which I don’t just like, but absolutely adore, so I thought I’d share it with you.

The book we found today is My Little Animal Friends At Home by Gerda Muller.

Those of you who are familiar with the lovely Spring,Summer,Autumn & Winter books from Gerda Muller will definitely recognise this little one:

It is full of lovely stories,
but, even better,
full of gorgeous illustrations.
This is one of my favourites:

The only slight downside is that the boy in the yellow coat now has a name.
But I am sure it won’t stop my little ones from giving him a new name every time we tell his many stories.

I am so sure that this book will be a favourite from now on,
just like all the other Gerda Muller books we have.

Wishing you a creative day!

My daughter would love this book, she has a real thing for old fashioned illustrations! She loves the Dick and Jane books, Ladybird readers (Helping at Home is one of her favourites), and Elf books (especially one called Animal Friends).

  2. What fun! DS loves too many books to count. But, we’ve just started reading chapter books and he loves Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home and A Kiss for Little Bear. Also, anything by Kevin Henkes (especially A Good Day). I’ll post about our favorite Spring book at my place soon. Hope the packing is going well!

My baby’s favorite book at the moment is probably Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks and Things that Go as there are so many things happening in it. I also have an old copy of The Gingerbread Man from 1974 that has my absolute favorite illustrations in it ever! I have fond memories of it as a child, and so sought it out for my son.
