Today was a very good day. We drove up to London to visit Greatnan & Greatgrandad.
Not only did we bring back some of her famous pies & several bags full of fabric, but also this:
I can’t even begin to explain how very grateful I am , how lucky, how happy & blessed I feel that this was passed on to us, together with a little wooden sewingbox that belonged to Greatgrandad’s mother. I will be sure to take very good care of it, & when the time feels right I hope to pass it on to one of my children, or their children, or maybe even their grandchildren.
& , my favourites, (apart from the gorgeous Singer, obviously!) these lovely vintage buttons:
Thank you so much.
Wishing all of you a happy day!

What a treasure! Both your lovely family and their generous gifts. I don’t have anything in mind as I don’t sew, but I do hope you show us your creations!!

What a treasure! Your Grandparents look so sweet! And the Singer sewing machine – such a dream. It feels like that machine could share so many amazing stories. Enjoy it!
My Granny had a singer. It was just like that one only instead of a motor, it was built onto a table with a great big iron pedal at the bottom that you would push with your foot to make it go. That sucker lasted FOREVER. In fact my aunt who’s a seamstress still pulls it out sometimes if I’m not mistaken.
wie süß die aussehen. und das foto allgemein ist auch toll .
wo ist robert ??
Beautiful sewing machine. And lovely blog. Gave away all my patterns some time ago. There are some nice ideas for childrens clothes in this flickr group.http://www.flickr.com/groups/446441@N24/
