Nature Table Carpet

This is a card George made for me,
(with his daddys help, of course..:D )

It must have been so hard to trace his
wriggly tiny hand and foot!

The inside says :
“Thank you for looking after me & my
sister and for keeping the house
all lovely & tidy.
Love, George) ”

Yesterday during Emis nap I really wanted to make a little
“carpet” for our nature table, because I am not very happy
with the white colour, but i needed a project that would work
up quite quickly, ( she sleeps for about an hour )
so knitting wasn’t really an option.
We don’t have a weaving frame, so I “made” one
from two chairs & yarn and started weaving a little carpet:

Sadly the result wasn’t very pretty, so i threw it into the washing
machine to felt it,
which didn’t quite work the way I wanted it to, but ,learning from our mistakes I shall pretend it is intentional and use it anyway!

We are off to Sunday lunch at the grandparents
house now, and after that we will go for a walk to
collect some more leaves for some autumnal crafts.
